Our Training Approach
Cultural competence and intercultural communication are among the essential skills that individuals require in today’s increasingly conflict-driven world. However, many educators and intercultural trainers face challenges in making their workshops, training sessions, or classes interactive and experiential. This struggle often stems from traditional, teacher-centered resources that position learners as passive recipients of information, who are often expected to absorb guidelines or follow a “recipe” to become more interculturally competent. While somewhat effective, this approach often fails when learners are confronted with unfamiliar intercultural encounters where quickthinking and adaptability are required.
Neuroscience refers to this as fast thinking or instinctive reactions, which are guided by experience rather than mental or intellectual recall. This is where games stand out. Thanks to its gamified approach to teaching cultural competence, diversophy creates lifelong learning experiences that are more likely to stay with learners, equipping them with the skills to anticipate and respond to unfamiliar situations. With its focus on interactive role-playing and cultural scenarios, diversophy game series places participants in realistic cross-cultural discussions. This format encourages critical thinking, attentive listening, and creates a safe environment for reflecting on personal biases, actions, and choices. It facilitates the practice of exchanging knowledge across cultural boundaries and fosters reflection on cultural differences in ways that theoretical learning alone cannot.
With diversophy, each participant creates their own unique handbook of experiences, tailored to their personal journey, story, and goals.
