Welcome to Manhood 2, the second in our series of games addressing them challenges of men in contemporary life. Married or single, fathers and sons, gay or straight, of every ethnicity and race, we face the uncertain future of politics, technology, ecology and relationships as we go about making life meaningful and satisfying on our planet. We are in it together. Here is a game that will help us connect our stories and turn sharing into mutual support and action for male well-being at a time when masculinity is under heavy fire.
Dr. George Simons, creator & general editor of diversophy®, was a co-founder of the Hidden Valley Center for Men & is co-author of Men & Women: Partners at Work, Sexual Orientation in the Workplace & Cultural Detective: Women & Men. A seminar leader for men on several continents, he authored "Bellicose Veins" an online series of articles at menstuff.org, opposing the themes of warfare, violence & male disposability rife in our socially constructed metanarrative.
diversophy® is strongly involved in the conversation about how and why men’s roles are changing and need to change in modern life. Every week, The Good Men Project website under hashtag #ManhoodGame, publishes several diversophy® Manhood cards, using them as valuable prompts for discussion and comment, and challenging confining cultural notions of what a “real man” must be.
