Founded by Tom Matlack in 2009, The Good Men Project has pioneered the largest worldwide conversation about the changing roles of men in the 21st century. Over the years, it has grown into a diverse, multi-faceted media company and an idea-based social platform with more than 3 million visitors every month. It describes its mission as:
We explore the world of men and manhood in a way that no media company ever has, tackling the issues and questions that are most relevant to men’s lives. We write about fatherhood, family, sex, ethics, war, gender, politics, sports, pornography, and aging. We shy away from nothing. Our content reflects the multidimensionality of men — we are alternately funny and serious, provocative and thoughtful, earnest and light-hearted.
diversophy® is strongly involved in the conversation about how and why men’s roles are changing and need to change in modern life. Every week, The Good Men Project website under hashtag #ManhoodGame, publishes several diversophy® Manhood cards, using them as valuable prompts for discussion and comment, and challenging confining cultural notions of what a “real man” must be.
Life is often played as game in which men's welfare is a pawn to be sacrificed. The Manhood game was created and developed by Dr. George Simons, as a way to reframe men’s perceptions of themselves, to aid them in refreshing their mission in life, and to disarm social biases that attack male health and limit the possible in men’s own eyes and actions.
Want to know more? Join us in this adventure to change our word? The Manhood game is an ongoing project and we are eager for feedback and suggestions about issues that affect men in various cultural settings around the world.
