This short documentary tells the story of JAMK United for Refugees, a group created by staff and students at JAMK University of Applied Sciences in Jyväskylä, Finland for the purpose of developing positive responses to the refugee crisis in their local community.
As a regular lecturer in the Business Management program in Jyväskylä, Dr. George Simons advised the program development and subsequently became a partner with them for the second phase—bringing diversophy® into their project. The project is now focusing on assisting the migrants and the local community in the acculturation process by designing and developing a migrant-focused diversophy® game to facilitate the understanding and receptiveness of the local community as well as create connections between migrants and local folk.
